This is a new idea for USATT-sanctioned competition that we’re trying. Since we are not able to get venues for tournaments during basketball season (Nov – March), this is a way that we can continue to advance our competitive experiences during our “off season.” (Note the LOW entry fee.) League Info: 0-star event; USATT sanctioned, only USATT-approved equipment may be used; all USATT rules apply, including dress code; matches are 3/5 11-point games; USATT membership or Player Permit is required; Jim McQueen (Certified Referee) is League Director & Referee; any and all disputes will be resolved at the sole discretion of the Referee.

Format: Any League participant may play any other League participant as long as both are willing and agree, prior to playing the match, that the match result will count for USATT ratings. Although not a strict requirement, Participants are strongly encouraged to play at least one match with as many other Participants as possible during the course of League play. However, any two Participants may play each other more than once if desired, subject to the Limitations (see below)..

Location & Time: Matches may be played at any time or place agreed to by the Participants.

Match Reporting: BOTH match participants should submit the match results by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it The results should specify the participants, the winner, the game scores, the location where the match was played, the date of the match, and the time that the match was completed.

League Participants: A list of League Participants will be posted on the club website -- RATTC.org. Once you have entered the League, your name will added to the website list, and you may then play matches with any other player(s) on the list.

League Results will be reported to USATT for ratings processing at the end of the League. Thus, no matter when during the League your matches were played, they will all be processed as if they had ALL been played on Dec. 29, 2008.

Deadline: There is no deadline for entering. As soon as your entry is received, your name will be added to the website and you may begin playing matches.

ENTRIES: You MUST get your entry and fee to Jim McQueen before you will be added to the Participants List on the RATTC.org website.

Limitations: A maximum of three matches between any two Participants will be reported for USATT ratings if there would be no rating points exchanged based on the player ratings at the start of the League and the match results. (Example: Two players’ ratings are 1500 and 1200. They play four times and the 1500 player wins all four matches. Only three of the matches will be reported because there would be no rating point changes to either player’s rating. However, if the 1200 player were to win one of the matches, then all four would be reported.)

Locations: Players in any city may participate in the League. For example, if you live in Wilmington or Greensboro or Asheville, you may enter the League. If you want to travel to other cities for matches, that is fine. If you only want to play matches with players who live near you, that is fine too.
