Hi Everyone,
Yes, it’s true! We WILL be having a Sunday Afternoon League during August and September. [Starting in October, basketball takes over the gym space, so play now while you can!]
The play dates are August 3, 10, 17, & 24, and September 7, 14, & 28. The first play date is one week from now, so plan fast!
There will be an “Open” League session (sponge or hardbat rackets are allowed), and there will be a “Hardbat Only” session. If you’ve been hearing big money Hardbat tournament rumors, you might want to be sharpening up your skills. Sometimes, the rumors come true….....
The gym will be open at 1:00pm for set up and warm up. Then, the Open session will be from 1:30 - 3:30pm and the Hardbat session will be from 3:30 - 5:30pm. You can play in either or both sessions. The times are approximate and will depend on the number of players who participate in the sessions.
There will NOT be any doubles. In each session, each player should get to play 4 – 5 singles matches. We will mix up the playing formats more than the Spring League so that you will get to play a bigger variety of opponents. The fee for one session is $30, or you can play in both sessions for $45. (In addition, you will pay the Brier Creek daily fee, just like on Friday nights.)
Stephen Anderson will be taking care of the match records and statistics with his software. The results of each session should be on line within 24 hours. Players’ ratings for the two sessions will be kept separately.
To enter, just send me an email and let me know which session(s) you want to play in. I will acknowledge your entry. There is a limit as to how many players we can handle. First come, first served. We’ll take care of the fees on League day.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

We WILL be having another League for 7 weeks during August and September. I am mulling over formats in order to “mix it up a little” compared to last time. There might even be some hardbat action. Don’t scoff. If some of Mike Babuin’s plans come to pass, you’ll REALLY be glad you sharpened up your hardbat skills. I will send out a separate email about the League and sign-up info.
To look over results of the just-completed Sunday League, you can go online to http://rattc.smanders.com/. Stephen Anderson has done all of the software for this site and the statistics. It is fabulous! Any stat you could think of is there -- wins, losses, matches, points, dates, percentages, and on and on. THANK YOU Stephen!!! We will be using his site for the upcoming League, and the results will be updated and available each week as the League progresses.

Remember, the more tournaments you play in, the more Tour Points you get. The more Tour Points you get, the more Raffle Tickets you get. The more Raffle Tickets you get, the better your chances are for winning a bigger share of the $3000 End-of-Season Raffle Drawing!!! [For example, we’ll draw out 30 winning tickets, each worth $100. So, if you have lots of tickets in the drum, and four of yours get drawn, you win $400! And so on…… But keep in mind, even if you only have one raffle ticket and it gets drawn, you’ll win $100 too!!]
We have gotten the Tour Point standings database up to speed. Tom Simpson has been doing this project for us. (THANKS Tom!) Me and Mike were the laggards in getting some of the data to him, but we finally did our part, and the database is READY! Click here to see the Tour Point standings |

The next Butterfly-sponsored NC Point Tour tournament will be at Brier Creek this coming Saturday, July 26. (It’s shaping up to be a nice one – A couple of the Charlotte players are coming and they’re looking for carpoolers, so there might be more.) The entry form is attached. Just send me an email if you want to enter. I will acknowledge your entry.
Right now, Brian Pace is not sure whether he’ll be able to participate or not. If he is able to play, I’ll send out another email and let you know.
